Zoccollilo sent up to Memphis...WHY?

28 year old Pete Zoccollilo was sent up
to "AAA" Memphis this week. Zoccollilo is batting .270,
with 4 homeruns, out of 89 at bats with the Springfield
Cardinals. Respectable indeed, however, there seems to
be others on the team that have more impressive stats.
Is the parent club needing a first
baseman? I am not quit sure that Albert is ready
to retire as of yet, so I guess that this theory can be
discarded.
If it is an outfielder that they need,
why not Tyler Minges? Repeatedly, Minges has
proven that he is a clutch player, second only to Travis
Hanson, with 53 RBI's. His fielding has been exceptional
with only 5 errors in 92 games. Minges is also 2 years
younger and batting at .309 with 16 homeruns?
Has this moved been earned? Or has Zoccollilo been
pre-ordained by the parent Cardinals?
Personally, I am still trying to figure out how this
minor league thing works. Just as soon as I think that I
have it all under control, it changes.
The one bright light in this trade, is
that we will still be able to feel the excitement every
time that Tyler comes to the plate in those clutch
situation. And I am sure that he will come through for
us more often than not.
